After decades of various ownership and participation relationships, the city of Innsbruck took over the Markthalle completely and solely through its real estate subsidiary IIG.
IIG CEO Franz Danler took over the formal legal management of the Innsbrucker-Markthallen-Betriebsgesellschaft (MHI). At the same time, the creation of an overall concept for the further operation of the Markthalle was announced. According to this, both properties (owned by the city) on which the old and new market halls, the park house and the station are located (a total of around 7,000 sqm) would now be brought under the Innsbrucker Immobiliengesellschaft (IIG). “The IIG plays a huge role in the further development of the Markthalle and an adjustment of the structures is of particular importance here”, explained city mayor Christine Oppitz-Plörer.
The management of the market is in the hands of Kurt Dengg, an accomplished manager with international experience (Coca Cola Int.) and specific expertise in the F&B industry, thus making him the ideal person for the content re-launch of the Markthalle Innsbruck.
