I offer everything you need for both inner and outer wellness.
For over 15 years, Bechir Benattia has stood out from the crowd somewhat at the Farmers’ Market in the Markthalle. Side by side with all of the typical Tyrolean products, you’ll find Bechir Benattia hidden in the midst of all sorts of oriental spices. The Tunisian came to the Tyrol for love, much to the happiness of his many customers.
There’s no question that you can find good, traditional, Tyrolean products in the Markthalle. But few know and many are surprised that you can also suddenly find yourself in an oriental market.
Of course the regular visitors already know me, but you can tell on the faces of some Tyrolean customers that they weren’t expecting to see a stand like the one I run. But after all these years, I’m well prepared, and am more than happy to step in with advice to help the market visitors find their way through the huge variety of different spices, teas and sweets that I offer in my range.
The fragrance alone takes you deep into another, unfamiliar world. Many can probably guess the delicacies that could be conjured up in the kitchen at home with your help but lack the knowledge of how to do it.
But that’s exactly why I’m here! Not only do I have the exotic ingredients here but I also have the best and most important recipes handy to make the step into oriental cuisine a little easier. Tajine, couscous, baba ganoush… many know the famous recipes of my homeland and I’m always delighted to be able to provide interested customers not only with the ingredients but also with the instructions that will almost guarantee a successful and delicious meal.
The range of tea varieties alone is impressive. Many are familiar with the famous peppermint tea of the desert region but this makes up only the tiniest part of your stand.
There are so many unusual tea blends that provide a wide array of flavours. Customers can choose from amongst five different blends of flower teas alone. Rose petals are particularly popular. I like to let the customers have a sniff from the glass jars. The nose plays an important role in the enjoyment of food and drink. But I not only have something to satisfy the tastes of every gourmand, but can also recommend something for mild complaints and illnesses. We all know, after all, that teas and spices can have potent healing effects.
Especially when everything is produced as purely and naturally as your goods.
Everything is natural, everything is real. That’s very important to me. I also avoid packing these wonderful things up into plastic. Why would you pack these natural things into plastic and thus falsify their origin?
Alongside all the wonderful and amazingly aromatic spices, teas and coffees, you can also find incense, oils, sponges and beautiful fabrics.
The human body needs more than just the right products for the diet in order to feel well. For a holistic feeling of well-being the skin is also extremely important. Argan oil is amazing for external use on the skin and hair. Loofah sponges are particularly hygienic and have a wonderful massaging effect. And the fabrics you mentioned are hammam towels, which are perfect for use in saunas. So I offer everything you need for both inner and outer wellness. laughs
