My daughter-in-law makes the most wonderful bouquets.
After 60 years of Markthalle tradition, you’ll still find Frau Sax herself from Monday to Saturday between 7am and 12 noon in amongst the colourful tulips and bright yellow daffodils. And the talkative lady always has time for a chat alongside arranging, cutting and bunching flowers.
Ms Sax – you stand in the midst of the fruits of your many years of work, so to speak.
Beautifully put and looks beautiful too – most of all of this colour and cheeriness that you can take home with you is from our family farm that I was able to found back then with my husband.
A life surrounded by flowers.
That sounds so romantic but a market garden is of course a lot of hard work too! I’m glad that my son was also interested in the work and always works so hard in our greenhouse in Völs to ensure a constant supply of fresh flowers.
In spring, in particular, the tulips that you pick yourself are an absolute hit with customers.
Flowers are the first thing you think of when someone mentions spring! Especially around Easter, people enjoy the return of warmth and colour. We gardeners love this time of year in which we can spread such happiness. It’s also lovely when people order plants for their balconies. Some of customers look forward for months to the day when they can decorate their houses with our petunias and geraniums.
Particularly here in the Tyrol, balconies richly laden with flowers are part of the traditional image. And Gärtnerei Sax ensures that these can be enjoyed for a long time.
We make it very easy for the customers – they can simply bring the plant pots and troughs for their balcony to us, tell us what they would like in them, and we’ll have them ready planted in one day. When these are equipped with the correct type of soil for the respective plants, a beautifully decorated house can be a long-lasting pleasure for the residents themselves and for their neighbours.
If decorating only the balcony isn’t enough, we’re happy to help and advise in the area of garden flowerbeds.
You still stand here in the Markthalle in the mornings and help your son out with the flowers in the afternoons. But your daughter-in-law is also essential to the family business.
My daughter-in-law makes the most wonderful bouquets, specially tailored to the customers’ requests. Whilst we sell mostly cut flowers here at our stand, we can of course provide special bouquets for lovely occasions, which can then be picked up the next day in the Markthalle.
